- 8 weekly workout programs.
- Instructions for the workouts, including
- suggestions for duration, frequency and expectations.
- Online video demonstrations of exercise positions, movements and steps. Note: entire workouts are not on video; videos demonstrate correct positions only. You do not need to be in front of your computer in order to complete your workout.
- Activity logs to complete and submit online weekly (optional, but encouraged).
- Fitness tips for quick workouts when you can’t get a whole workout in.
- Behavioral and lifestyle change tips that encourage healthy living, weight loss, stress reduction, and life-long fitness habits.
- Encouragement and motivation.
- Online forum for other participants to post ideas, encouragement, tips and more.
- Optional office hour with a Personal Trainer; one appointment per program session registered. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:30 pm.
- Email communication with the Health & Wellness team during the session dates - have questions? Ask away!
- Weekly emails for reminders, motivation, encouragement and more.
- Your access website with the workout programs will continue for an additional 2 weeks after the session date ends, allowing those individual who have missed a week to catch up, if desired. However, all email and office visit access to the Health & Wellness team and personal trainers will stop at the last session date.
What’s Involved
Once you register for the program, you will receive an email within one to three business days with access information to the Workout Your Way website.
An internet connection* and computer capable of downloading and viewing video, and a valid email address is required for this program.
Even though the program allows complete flexibility, program participants should be prepared to commit 8 weeks to the program, have a dedicated area in your home for workouts and have some basic fitness equipment. If you choose to do your workout at home, ideal equipment would include an exercise mat, stability ball, and a set of hand / free weights (5 to 10 pounds).
For maximum benefit, participants are still encouraged to make use of the Heath & Wellness Center at least once a week, however the majority of the workouts will be setup for exercising at home.
Getting Started
Register at the Welcome Center by phone, fax or in person. Provide the email address you wish to use for this program at the time of registration.
A few days prior to the session start date, you will receive an email from the Y including your username and password access to webpages. The website will contain your workout information, email access to the Health & Wellness Department Staff and your access to the message board.
The rest is up to you - it’s that easy!
