Preschool Sports / Fitness

With all their energy and zeal for learning, preschoolers are at a perfect age to introduce to a variety of sports and fitness concepts.  Enroll your preschooler in a program today and help him/her learn a new skill, gain confidence in their large motor skills and burn up some energy while doing so!

Spring Training T-Ball
Ages 3-5

This program will teach the fundamentals of baseball. Players should bring their own gloves.

Play Group Swim and Gym
Come explore, play and have fun with your little one during free gym time and in our 0” depth entrance family pool. This is a great opportunity for you to enjoy time with the little ones!!

Moovin & Groovin
Ages 3-5
FTGROOVE
Combining the mastery of movement and self expression. Children will learn the basic concepts of dance, such as space, time, energy, and movement. Children will participate in activities that will increase self expression and artistry through encouragement. Experience scarves, ribbons, drumming, parachutes and more! Location: Group Exercise Room.

Tumble Bugs

Motor development and physical exploration in a gymnastic type setting will be paired up with games and obstacle courses to help increase large motor development. Parents are FREE. Location: West Gym

Tumbling Tikes
Ages 3-5

Improve coordination and develop basic skills in this beginning level floor exercise gymnastic class. Learning how our body can move and develop strength and flexibility. Appropriate for the tikes who have not taken any organized class before. Location: West Gym

Creative Movement
Ages 3 - 5
FTMOVEMENT (1) (2)
An introduction to dance basics. This course will work on latest locomotor movements with artful dance technique. It will help build, strengthen and improve flexibility over time for maximum body awareness and range of movement. Dancers will learn the artful way to use their body in dance. Attire: leather ballet slippers, leotard, and tights. All can be purchased at Julie R Dancewear. YMCA dancers will receive free tights with the purchase of the leotard and ballet slippers. Location: Group exercise room.

Cross Country Skiing  *NEW!*

Come propel your way through the snow at YMCA! Trail through the grounds on your cross country skis while getting a great work out. Participants must bring their own skis and dress for the weather. Come and join the Y staff for an beginners class of cross county skiing.

Kiddies Bumper Bowling *NEW!*

Learn to bowl with the help of bumpers. Emphasis on fun! Parents are encouraged to help.

Snowplow Sam (Learn to Skate) *NEW!*
Ages 3-7
This program is a progression of three classes designed to teach the fundamentals of skating to children with little or no experience. Classes will have a 30 minutes instructed lesson plus an 1 1/2 hours of practice ice; practice time vary during the week. Free skate rental -limited availability. Helmets are recommended and are available for purchase at the Family Center.

Basic Skills Level 1 - Skating
(Ages 8+)

The basics skills are the foundation of figure skating; these levels introduce the older skaters to fundamental moves while improving balance and coordination as well as promoting physical fitness! Children with little skating experience or first time skaters over age 8 should sign up for Basic 1. All weekly Basic Skills level 1 classes will have 30 minutes instructed lesson plans, plus 1 1/2 hours of practice ice; practice times vary during the week. Free skate rental-limited availability. Helmets are recommended and are available for purchase at the Family Center.
